We are currently working diligently to meet our goal of having sanctioned FCA Huddles up and running in every middle and high school in the county. As the school year kicks off, we will have FCA huddles meeting at 18 of our local schools. Praise God!! In the fall of 2013, we were only aware of seven such huddles that were meeting (only four were certified). We are receiving a lot of interest in getting huddles started and are working on growing the existing huddles. God’s grace has been extended to us and we are working to glorify Him.
Please pray for the high schools and middle schools in your area. This year, we are in desperate need of having strong young men and women stand up and take a stand for Jesus in our county. FCAs are student run and are in need of strong student leadership. Additionally, please pray for the huddle coaches that are pouring their time and energy into serving their campus for Christ. We are very excited about the 2014-2015 school year.
Pray for God to open the door at the 11 schools that are still without FCAs: Cocoa, Cocoa Beach, Delaura, Hoover, Jackson, Kennedy, Madison, Melbourne Central Catholic, Southwest, and Stone.
Throughout the summer, the Eau Gallie High FCA had leadership meetings to establish plans for reaching their campus for Christ. The first week of September, they plan to kick off their first meeting by offering free ice cream to the entire school!
Additionally, they will conduct their weekly huddle during their lunch hour. This will make FCA accessible to the entire student body and removes the morning transportation challenge many students previously faced. The huddle leader at EGHS is Robin Shaver.
Coach Jarrod Bales is the FCA Huddle Coach at Astronaount High. Jarrod is a Football, Girls’ Basketball and Bowling Coach and has been the FCA Huddle Coach for four years. Coach Bales spent his entire summer assisting in running a youth camp in the mountains of Tennesse.
Maribeth Morgan is an 8th grader and is a member of the FCA Leadership team at Central Middle School. She was a key part of getting FCA started at Central Middle School in the spring of 2014. Maribeth is a member of the Junior National Honor Society, the Space Coast Young Marines and swims with the Palm Bay Predators.
